A reflection on our first two months.

Two months can prove a lot of things: people, ideas, concepts. We’re proud to say that we think we have proven something with mediums since our release. It’s proof that Thailand is ready for something new. It’s proof that it’s ready to understand and take interest in something that has been misunderstood, unnoticed or even looked down at.

Our retail subsidiary, Mediums Retail, with it’s flagship opening of Mediums Sukhumvit 42 has laid a solid groundwork of what we stand by - our core values of Inspiration, Opportunity, Reinvention, Social Responsibility and most importantly out of all, Empathy. Mediums Sukhumvit 42 has become a new center and to-go spot for art and creative supplies whenever people need it and online platforms has served our customer base where ever they may be. Our introduction of Art Advisors (AA) in our physical location has gone with positive reception as this opens the door to any type of customer - no matter what skill level, no matter what age, no matter what their previous backgrounds are.

Philosophy, Our Food, Beverage and Wellness Subsidiary, with it’s introduction of it’s cafe brand (ve/la), has been an amazing pathway that leads all customer bases to our location - bringing people who normally wouldn’t elect to spend time with art and design to choose to do so. Not only that, it has also proved their concept of simple handcrafted but high quality selections of beans and drinks. The use of visual cues has helped a larger group of people understand the characteristics of different speciality coffee selections and has been a crucial driving force for people who simply, want to understand coffee more. The cafe has since not only garnered cafe hoppers and explorers but a high percentage of repeat customers both in store and through our delivery partners.

Our other two brands, even-though may not have garnered the same level of high success like Mediums or Ve/la due to uncontrollable circumstances involved in the Coronavirus Regulations - causing shutdowns of our spaces and inability to safely continue educational ventures in a stable manner, has gone to conceptually redefine what the possibilities of an adaptive space or creative education may be. NMBR (Under the Notion Subsidiary) has brung in a multitude of interest for venue based and production based work to an inventive space where the limitations are only at the customers imagination. Makespace (under our education subsidiary) has also recently released ‘makebox’, a solution to being able to explore art safely from the comfort of your own home and in the team’s own words, “We hope you will have a really great time creating something amazing from the supplies in this box. We know that this is all a tough time for all of us and hope that this could provide a short and sweet escape from reality for a short while. We can't wait to see you back in workshops with us in the near future.”

Other than our core subsidiaries and brands, mediums is gearing up for near future releases of products, services and solutions taking form this summer and winter.

During this time, our internal initiatives has not been left behind either. Our Green Marble Initiative has started with great success with Mediums Retail and Philosophy making the largest investments in the form of biodegradable packaging this fiscal year. Our Groundworks lab has also gone on to provide a space for two products so far with one released (makespace’s makebox) and another unreleased line of products coming mid june.

This has only been our first step in what we hope would be a never ending journey. Our headquarters has an impending corporate restructuring that will be able to hold and propel mediums into the future, ready for what ever we want to reinvent next.
